I watched the two Presidential “Town Hall” broadcasts last night. There were very VERY clear distinctions between the two:

1A) Trump: The moderator spent a good chunk of the time (seemingly the majority) interviewing Trump, not letting the audience ask questions

1B) Biden: The moderator let the audience do almost all the asking

2A) Trump: the moderator was adversarial in the extreme

2B) Biden: The moderator was friendly

Each approach seemed fine in its way… on one hand, it’s the job of the press to grill the candidate; on the other the “town hall” format is supposed to be for regular people to ask questions. Just interesting to note the stark difference. Also noted: somehow, *nobody* seemed to ask Biden the important and obvious questions, such as “how do you think history will remember you if you try to enact your claimed policies and you incite a wholly unnecessary civil war (with the gun grab) and/or destroy the US economy (Green New Deal)?” or “so just how much money did Hunter make from selling influence to the Chinese, Ukrainians, Russians and who all else?” Every question was a softball.

Neither impressed.

Harris: combining smugness with seeming to be perpetually on the edge of tears? Bleah.

Pence: Traditional Republican… mild, passed up many opportunities to correct Harris’ falsehoods, basically let himself be walked all over.

Gimme Zombie Reagan.

Gucci is getting in on the ground floor of Gropey Joe’s America, where “Manhood” will be a bad thing:

Tartan cotton long smock shirt

Style ‎632536 ZAFDL 7261

Inspired by grunge looks from the ‘90s and styled over ripped denim pants, this tartan smock in delicate colours reflects the idea of fluidity explored for the Fall Winter 2020 fashion show, disrupting the toxic stereotypes that mold masculine gender identity. The contrast Peter Pan collar and smock embroidery on the front add a childhood inspired element, which ties to a recurrent theme of the collection. Pieces with versatile ways to wear and style embrace each person who is part of the House’s individual spirit.

The price of this Stunning And Brave “look at me, I’m confused” uniform? A mere € 1,900, or about $2,236 in the financial units that sent Men to the Moon. Don’t worry, though… if the man in your life – and that could be you – wears this, he’s not going to be drafted to go to the Moon and fight for humanity’s future.

Below: a visual representation of what “dead inside.”

Lest you think that this is Gucci’s way of jumping on the “let’s emasculate white men” bandwagon, they seem to hate *all* males of every race. Behold:

Yup, you read that correctly: “impotent.” Trust that someone, somewhere, will actually spend good money on that and wear it proudly.

I watched the debate last night. I sat there aghast the whole time thinking “This. This, right here… this is a ᛋᚺᛁᛏ show.” Now, it seemed to me that whoever was in charge of getting Gropey Joe his meds was on the ball; he didn’t have as many senior moments as I expected. But I think Trump… man, I dunno. He was a little too Trumpey, I thought. But what the hell do I know. I thought sure he was doomed to utter defeat in 2016, and instead Hillary is now a minor footnote in the annals of political corruption.

Trump is, in my opinion, a rather horrible person. Why? Because of his behavior. But Biden? He is also a horrible person… because of his politics, who he pals around with, who he enables and supports. As much of a clown as Trump is, his *policies* are pretty damn good. Gropey Joe certainly would not have given us the USSF. What he would give us is the Harris Administration, which is on course towards getting that Civil War II underway. So… if it’s the choice between a vulgarian boor with sensible policies and a Creepy Comrade, I’m’a voting for the clown.

And it’s clear that the performance enhancers that Biden was on that allowed him to more or less withstand Trump last night have faded off today:

This time it’s not just random schmoes who, in some sudden moment, blurted out Wrongthink. No, this time it’s people who plotted and planned to commit acts of violence and criminality, complaining that, lo and behold, there are consequences.

I fully expect that corporate HR departments keep or perhaps trade back and forth databases of people who get themselves into the news, their mugshots splashed on the pages of local or even national news. I certainly hope that *somebody* is keeping a record of all the commie scumbags who have been arrested – and generally promptly released by commie scumbag DAs/prosecutors. Most of them may well not face the legal system for their crimes. But it would be advisable for companies to know that so-and-so was arrested for setting a Starbucks on fire or for  trying to blind cops or for being an extremist whackaloon trying to tear down civilization. Not only are such people bad employees – you never know when they’ll decide to set the break room on fire – they are also a PR nightmare.

Actual fans of Star Trek have been grousing for several years now (since either the beginning of STD, or the beginning of the JJTrek movies, depending) about the lack of quality Trek, how the garbage that’s being cranked out is poorly written, nonsensical and massively anti-canonical. While actual finances and viewership numbers for the streaming shows are impossible to come by, the fact that these shows have made approximately *zero* cultural impact (when was the last time you saw an STD toy, model, T-shirt or any other bit of merchandise for sale at WalMart… or *anywhere*?) indicates that other than hate-watching, nobody much cares about these shows. So, it is in the interests of the brand for those in charge to make good decisions. And by golly, looky here:

Star Trek: Discovery Introduces First Transgender and Non-Binary Characters

Yes, the bios of the two new acting units start off by telling us what their pronouns are, because that’s *all* they are. I’m sure all the fans who complained about Picard being turned into a useless, neutered shadow of his former self, incapable of accomplishing anything but meekly accepting abuse from every female character within a dozen light years, will line the frak up to watch *this.*

A lot of people don’t like the DC “cinematic universe” movies like “Batman V Superman,” “Suicide Squad” and “Justice League.” I like them… ok. They have flaws, but for the most part I find them entertaining enough that in the Before Times I saw most of them in theaters. But I didn’t go to see “Birds of Prey,” largely because:

1: It just didn’t look good or interesting

2: There was a lot of woke rubbish about it.

It is now on HBO/Hulu. So a few days ago i fired it up while doing CAD work. If nothing else, I have the TV on as background noise; I can binge watch half a season of some show or other while working and, when I finally look up from my screen, realize that X hours have gone by and I’ve absorbed absolutely none of what transpired on the TV. So with that in mind, judge for yourself what it means that I got something like 30 or so minutes into “Birds of Prey” and intentionally turned it off. It’s badness was so overpowering that it blew right through my ramparts of inertia, inattention and indifference. That is, in a way, rather impressive.

Athletes No Longer Playing Games: Historic Moment in Sports as Teams, Players Protest Racial Injustice by Refusing to Take Court, Field

It seems sportsball-playing millionaires are deciding to take a little extra time off, and are using rare incidents as an excuse. My favorite quote from the piece:

Tennis champion Naomi Osaka, whose father is Haitian and mother is Japanese but has lived in the U.S. since she was three, took to Twitter to announce she would not compete in the semifinal of the Western & Southern Open Thursday saying “continued genocide of Black people at the hand of police is honestly making me sick to my stomach.”

“Genocide.” That’s awesome.

What do you want to be that they still want to get *paid?* Maybe the thing to do is for people to simply decide to set professional sports aside for, oh, three or four years. Wipe the slate clean, let it sit fallow for a few years, start fresh in a few years. Same with Star Trek.

EDIT: The original YouTube video was removed by the uploader. Don’t know why. But here’s a news article on the subject:

New Jersey police department sends 18-year-old BLM organizer a $2,500 overtime bill for security cost at her 40-person protest

ORIGINAL POST (based on the now-deleted video):

The city has a law on the books allowing it to bill for police services for private events… which this would seem to have been.

Money quote:

“I was shocked when I read that I had to pay to exercise my first amendment rights.”

Huh.

She also has a *second* amendment right. One wonders if she’d be shocked that the government won’t just *give* her a gun, that she has to pay for bullets and targets and training and range time.

Also: those arrested and convicted of rioting and looting should, as part of their sentences, be fined for the costs of restocking looted stores, rebuilding burned-out buildings. A lifetime bill of a few million dollars might be a bit of a disincentive to being a violent destructive jackass. Similarly, crowd funding efforts to support convicted rioters/looters should be leined-upon.

NEWS UPDATE:

Englewood Cliffs mayor rescinds $2,500 bill sent to teen organizer of Black Lives Matter rally

So, now you can monopolize the police at no cost to you.
