… for those who hate the US. Lang Lang, a Chinese pianist, played a tune for Obama and Hu Jintao at the White House. What’s the big deal? The song, apparently, was the theme from the 1956 Chinese propaganda war movie, Battle on Shangganling Mountain, which tells a story about a battle against American “jackals.”

Wow. Looks like my timing with the Turbo Encabulator posting was spot-on. I hadn’t thought of using music as a way to insult or mock someone right to their face, but there it is.

How else to explain him plagiarizing my posts? A few days back I posted about the short story “Philosophers Stone,” and used that as a launching platform about my own harebrained ideas for fixing the economy by spurring invention. So what does Obama doyesterday? Gave another one of his dreary speeches, where he discussed fixing the economy through invention (though I didn’t hear anything in there about how to spur invention… like, say, tax cuts for getting patents or any such thing).

The video scores bonus points for having one of the creepist bits of fawning personailty-cultism appended to the tail end of it.

Sigh.

http://content.usatoday.com/communities/theoval/post/2010/12/obama-aides-republicans-talk-tax-cuts-quietly/1

Republicans are holding quiet talks with the Obama administration. And again we’re staring down the barrel of “compromise,” which in US FedGuv speak means “the government is going to get larger pretty fast, but not quite as fast as if we let the Dems wholly have their way.”

news reports indicate that Obama aides are willing to extend the George W. Bush tax cuts for wealthy taxpayers in exchange for an extension of unemployment benefits and new forms of stimulus spending.

Way to stick up for your principles, boys.

Republicans have neither spine nor negotiating skills. If the Dems want to increase the budget by “only” ten percent this year… counter with a proposal to cut the budget by fifty percent. And then split the difference. And the difference isn’t “we decided to grow the budget by only 8% this year,” but something more like “we decided to cut the budget by only 20% this year.”

Snerk. Check out the latest Newsweek cover:

To compare with:

It’s already irritated some people.

The pose Newsweek has put Obama in is a direct copy of an iconic image of Shiva. Where Obama is shown juggling, Shiva is in fact dancing. Specifically a dance known as “Tandava,” representing Shivas role in the cycle of the universe. Perhaps best known for his role in bringing about the destruction of the world.

“I am become debt, the destroyer of economies.”

From the administration that brought you “man-caused disaster” and “overseas contingency operation,” another terminology change is in the pipeline.

The White House wants the public to start using the term “global climate disruption” in place of “global warming
” — fearing the latter term oversimplifies the problem and makes it sound less dangerous than it really is.

And in other Newspeak News…

Call them “the Obama tax cuts for the middle class.”

Top Democratic leaders in the House are discussing using that phrase to rebrand President Obama’s proposed extension of the Bush tax cuts for those making less than $250,000…

Ousted Agriculture Department employee Shirley Sherrod said Thursday she will sue a conservative blogger who posted a video edited in a way that made her appear racist.

Wow. Really? The video wasn’t edited to make her appear racist; it was actually longer than it needed to be to make the NAACP members in the audience appear racist.

But she’s decided to sue. Fine. This means she’s going to have every last bit of whackadoodle Marxist nuttery she’s ever uttered brought to the public fore. Obama’s gonna *love* this…

Of course, if she somehow wins the lawsuit, it will be open season on *every* media outlet that ever dares to show any video ever. Breitbart did nothing more to the tape – if he did anything at all –  than to simply show a single four minute segment. He didn’t alter the audio or the video at all. So, the next time some politician gets caught saying something stupid, he can sue the hell out of any media outlet or blogger who dares to show it without showing the preceeding and following half hour as well.
