Y’all might have noticed a dropoff in blog productivity of late. There’s a reason: I had planned a trip back to Illinois to attend an art show to sell photos. Just before I was about to leave… word came in that I was up for a Good Job In My Field. So the trip got put on hold until I found out about scheduling for the job interview. Things got delayed, and I’ve been sitting here stewing, waiting to hear back about the job.
Guess how it all eventually turned out. Go on, I dare ya.

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
Ya shoulda gone to the art show, huh? If ya had, you’d a got the call.
Never fails.
“A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush” is probably the usual advice given at this point. All that sort of thing is just to make our grandmothers feel better about how we feel.
I assume that when you don’t post something you’re busy doing something immediately profitable.

BWAAHAHAHAHAAAAA!!!! Yeah, I wish. There’s quite a difference between doing somethign profitable and doing somethign you *want* to be profitable.

Too late. Waiting for the job interview cost me the photo sales, and I didn’t get the job interview. A swing and two misses.
You have a wonderfully optimistic world view.
remember, if you’re always pessimistic,
then you’re never disappointed…….
Would an Illinois trip take you anywhere near Batavia? It would be nice to meet sometime.
Batavia? That’s Chicago. When I was a kid, the family would go to Chicago once every other year or so, hit the aquarium, Science & Industry museum, Field Museum, etc. Went back a few years ago. Soem things that were great in childhood remain great as an adult. and Chicgo… was not one of those things. Holy crap was it disappointing. The museums were small, drab, and annoyingly broken and outdated; the city itself was much like that, but with the added threat of immanent mugging.
Thus… no particular reason to go back.
Note: The Shedd aquarium looks pretty meager after numerous visits to the Monterrey Bay Aquarium; the Denver natural history museum stomps the Field museum flat.
