Fourth in the series of reconstructed drawings from Paul Suhler’s book “From RAINBOW to GUSTO.” Here we have the initial “Archangel” design produced by Kelly Johnson. This is Figure 45. Due to low image quality in the original, this particular drawing has a Source Grade of two:
“RAINBOW to GUSTO” is available from Amazon.com (for $39.95) and direct from the AIAA ($29.95 for AIAA members).

The design looks like it was the end result of somebody in the Skunk Works making a model glider out of thin balsa wood sheet.
If you actually built it like that, you would have to make the whole tail assembly by milling it out of solid sheets of metal, and even then the attachment to the fuselage looks very suspect.
You could make a nifty model rocket boost glider out of this design though.
Those ramjet kite designs would also work great in that regard.
