Sotheby’s ‘Banksy-ed’ as painting ‘self-destructs’ live at auction

So “Banksy,” the British graffiti “artist,” had a painting up for auction. The painting was in a frame…a  suspiciously thick frame. And as soon as someone with more money than faith in the abilities of mankind won the auction with a bid of £953,829, a shredder built into the frame promptly ate the painting, turning it into thin strips.

Clever? Sure. Witty? Eh, I guess. Art? Feh. It ain’t no “Girl With A Pearl Earring.”
