As mentioned previously, I’ve uploaded seven new space documents. I’ve now also updated the Up-Ship.com website with full details. You can now order:
1) Advanced Saturn/Apollo Missions
2) Douglas ASTRO 2-stage RLV
3) Goodyears phenomenal METEOR space “city”
4) 260-inch solid rocket plans
5) Titan III-C9 “MOL” launch details
6) Martin Mariettas “Aft Cargo Carrier” for the Shuttle
7) Apollo Laboratory Module – sort of a MOL for Apollo

I am also putting six space drawing sets (the Shuttle, Titan and Saturn launch vehicle diagrams) on sale as a bundle, for half price!

In the early/mid 1950’s, work was performed at Goodyear Aircraft on the METEOR concept (“Manned Earth-Satellite Terminal Evolving From Earth-To-Orbit Ferry Rockets”). This was somewhat similar to the “Colliers” space program as envisioned by von Braun and others… just not so small and limited.Compare that sort of ambition to the incredibly slow, incredibly small, incredibly pointless International Space Station.

Below are artwork and drawings from one of the Goodyear Aircraft reports. hmm. I wonder where someone could go to get a copy of this report??????? Hmmmm…….

A few more views of the “new” Enterprise from the forthcoming Trek movie are visible in the latest trailer. I am still underwhelmed with the re-design (although the CGI looks top-notch). One can always hope that at the end of the movie the Enterprise gets well and truly trashed, barely limping back home with engine nacelles falling off… and Scotty shows Kirk a hastily scribbled sketch of some re-designs he’s come up with to fix and improve the design.

I’ve uploaded the next seven space documents to their password-protected sites, but have not yet updated the up-ship.com/blog webpage to describe them. For some reason, I always drag my feet at this stage. So until I get the individual document descriptions written and uploaded, I am making the seven documents available as a bundle at a lower price. Added together, the total price of the individual documents will be more than $40… but until I get the pages uploaded – a day or so, shouldn’t be much longer – you can have the whole set for $36. I’ll keep it a mystery for the moment exacty what the set contains… but if you like Apollo, MOL, Titan, Saturn, Shuttle derivatives, reusable launchers and phenomenally forward/gigantic-thinking plans for space development, you’ll like this set. See this page for ordering…

Separate webpages for my photos are online and running, but not exactly pristine or complete. The web coding is also pretty primitive… just like all my other webpages. Still, you can see most of what I currently have. The prices are for rolled prints on high-quality photo paper. I’m assured that the prices are about right for the sizes and quality. So order now in time for Christmas. Order now, or the terrorists have already won. Order now, for Zathras!!!

12X36 panoramas

8×20 panoramas

12X16 “portraits”

More details – titles and descriptions – will be made available for each photo, but for now I just wanted to get the system going.

stingera1.jpgNo other data than this one drawing. Dated 8-2-51, this shows a four-engined tailless interceptor or ground attacker featuring a prone pilot disturbingly ringed by unguided rockets. Firing these at night would almost certainly temporarily blind the pilot.

UPDATE: From a trusted source… “I talked to an old friend that worked at Northrop forever, and he  talked to a couple of even older friends who actually worked with Dick  Teague (who drew the Stinger drawing), and they all feel it was a  “doodle” and not a real project.”

In final preparation for tomorrows “open house” with the photos. So guess what I woke up to at 3 AM today… that’s right, a BLIZZARD. Perfect.

Anyway, here’s the “art gallery,” such as it is. As it takes up only a small fraction of the workshop, I’ve segregated it via highly classy suspended drop cloth. Woo. Still, it took up more space than I expected it would… not that long ago I figured a single shelving unit would be sufficient, but now even two don’t do the job.
