The dumbth overfloweth.
Nicholas, in her 40s, is transforming horoscopes from generalizations about finding true love and stumbling into financial good fortune to pointed calls to action with a left-leaning, social-justice agenda.
Is this stupid? You betcha. Do I support it? You betcha. I want all the lefties and SJWs to put more and more of their faith into patent bullshit.
This is of course nothing new. The left wing war on science, on rationality, on not being a freakin’ loon continues.
I bet you that a reasonable fraction of the people who hyperventilate about “racism” and “homo/trans/Islamo/whateverphobia” have their own screamingly insane hatreds. Ladies and gentlemen, behold the blithering bigotry of your betters:
As if belief in astrology in the era past Galileo and Newton and Einstein and von braun and Goddard wasn;t stupid enough, there are a substantial number of people who use astrological “signs” as a way to hate and discriminate.
Gah.
Who coulda guessed?
Iran says its military “unintentionally” shot down a Ukrainian passenger jet, killing all 176 people on board, Iran’s state TV reports.
The statement said it had done so due to “human error” after the plane flew close to a sensitive site belonging to Iran’s Revolutionary Guards.
This is zero surprise whatsoever. However, where things can get arguable is the definition of “unintentional.” I have no doubt that nobody involved explicitly wanted to shoot down a Ukranian jetliner… but I’d bet that a lot of those involved wanted to shot down *something.* The Revolutionary Guard is filled with people like Qasem Soleimani, crazed homicidal maniacs who are less distressed by killing innocent civilians than they are in failing to have killed the *right* innocent civilians.
So, the US jammed a small missile into the proximity of a mass murderer and war criminal. Surely nobody could have a problem with that, right? Surely not in the west, right? Guess again:

So now a lot of people are yapping about a war breaking out between the United states and Iran. The fact is, we have been at war with Iran since they committed the crime of invading the US embassy and taking the staff hostage. That was an act of international piracy, and international law has *long* accepted that any nation may take action against pirates wherever they may be found. Once Iran surrenders unconditionally, utterly rejects the ideology and beliefs that led them to taking the embassy, reworks their government into a modern secular system that truly provides for freedom of *all* religions and tries all those who supported the criminal and anti-human policies and actions of the “Islamic Republic of Iran,” *then* perhaps we can say that we are not at war with them. If Iran decides to escalate…
In the mean time, it seems like Britain should start mass deportations.
Something about this just makes me laugh:
She’s gonna have one hell of a story to tell back home…
Poe’s Law was originally specifically about Creationists:
Without a winking smiley or other blatant display of humor, it is utterly impossible to parody a Creationist in such a way that someone won’t mistake for the genuine article.
In the 15 years since then, though, it has expanded to cover just about every form of whackery, from religious to political. And it is accurate… parody will often be indistinguishable from the actual crazy. And thus you get this:
I define antisemitism ontologically as a product of white supremacy, making antisemitism by others – Black Hebrew Israelites, Muslims, whoever – impossible.
…Once we understand that the term “antisemitism” applies only to white-on-Jew violence, we realize other terminology must come into play. My suggestions include “economic protest” and “anti-gentrification crusade,” but others are welcome to weigh in with theirs.
The website this was published on, “Preoccupied Territory,” is explicitly a satirical website. But taken out of that context, it reads *exactly* like the sort of woke rubbish you’ll get from “Progressive intellectuals.” For example, it was reproduced in its entirety at jewishpress.com; and even with a single reference up top to the fact that it’s from a satire site, read the comments. A few folks missed that bit and believe that this is the current state of Progressive thought. And the thing is, they’re not far wrong.
It could prove entertaining if Reddit or 4chan or some such snagged this article and posted it without the reference to satire in order to hook as many Progressives as possible. Because I suspect they’d get a *lot* of them. The same ones who believe that “cultural appropriation” and “racism” only go one way, that words can and should be re-defined to support their left-fascist political agenda.
I hadn’t seen “PreOccupied Territory” prior to this. I think I’ll add it to my daily reading list of religious websites alongside the Babylon Bee. What the frak kinda world are we living in that the best and actually funniest political comedy comes from the religious fundies and that the ones who want to ban video games and burn books are on the left?
Snerk:
Short form: a shaman rubbed a guinea pig on a large number of people to cure them of their ailments, and likely their overly-fat wallets. No information was given about how the guinea pig felt about it; looked disturbed to me, but maybe it was just happy to be the center of attention. Also no word about whether the critter had been cleaned of plague-fleas prior to this. And the author did not render an opinion on whether it would be good or bad if a bunch of people who buy into rampagingly stupid nonsensical superstitious quackery caught some horrible life-ending, gene pool winnowing disease.
So a day or two back I visited a Barnes & Noble bookstore. One of the endcaps was covered with an array of woo-peddling nonsense, but one book truly caught my eye:
Next the the numerology handbook, sure to aid the idiots in your life to make their decision making processes that much less sensible, is “Hexing the Patriarchy.” Unsurprisingly, this book is available on Amazon, which provides this description:
Skeptics might think witchcraft is nothing more than a fad, but make no mistake: modern witches aren’t playing around. Today’s wizarding women are raising hell, exorcising haters, and revving up to fight fire with a fierce inferno of magical outrage.
Magic has always been a weapon of the disenfranchised, and in Hexing the Patriarchy, author Ariel Gore offers a playbook for the feminist uprising. Full of incantations, enchantments, rituals, and witchy wisdom designed protect women and bring down The Man, readers will learn how to . . .
This. Is. AWESOME.
If “the patriarchy” was actually a real thing, it could not come up with a better weapon to defend itself from “strong independent women” than to convince the opposition to rely on magical bullcrap. An opponent who relies on nonsensical woo rather than things that actually work is a much less effective opponent.
I recommend giving this book – or any of the wide range of similarly self-defeating titles available (such as “Revolutionary Witchcraft: A Guide to Magical Activism” and “Becoming Dangerous: Witchy Femmes, Queer Conjurers, and Magical Rebels“) to the gullible lefties in your life. Especially those who you think might, absent this “wisdom,” actually have some modest success in the political sphere.
Granted, it would be better if you didn’t actually spend money to procure these books. Perhaps they could be conjured out of thin air. Or… simply pass on the links, and let the opposition spend their own money to make themselves dumber.
The important trick, of course, will come after the immediate battle is over. After the socialists and commies and fascists and all the other far lefties render themselves irrelevant by relying upon magic rather than reason, it will be important for reason to not only emerge victorious, but to wipe the field clean of the stain of this superstitious ᚷᚩᛞᛞᚪᛗᚾᛖᛞ ᚠᚢᚳkᛁᚾᚷ ᛒᚢᛚᛚᛋᚻᛁᛏ. Allowed to gain purchase, this rubbish will lead directly either to a dark age… or to Chinese domination of the entire planet and the closing down of the era of western civilization.
And all of her followers? *PLEASE* follow her example…
I need your help manifesting a change-of-guard in Washington.
For 7 minutes a day, I’ll be chanting the following mantra: “Believe in believing. The impossible is possible.” As I do this I’ll be thinking of the special world we want to create.
JOIN ME. We’re stronger together.

Yes, yes, liberals. if you want change… rely on magic and superstition. That’ll do ‘er.
At least she’s not whacking people with bike locks, burning cars in the streets, sending the National Guard to slaughter wrongthinking citizens…
