Occasionally people wonder why I mix spaceflight and politics on my blog*. Here’s why:

Chavez says capitalism may have ended life on Mars

Yeah, whatever dude.

*Oddly, I get far fewer questions about why I mix rocketry and *cats.*

    Because, the cat was too intelligent to go and not come back.

    Lame joke, i know, but so is Chavez’s comment. Let just put it this way, he may profess to be a socialist but it is capitalism that got him where he is and keeps him where he is.

    All of the socialists like Chavez and Castro which put capitalism down and yet they live a lives of luxury and have more wealth than the people they supposedly came from.

    Isn’t it interesting that North Korea’s leader and his son have amassed a great deal of wealth and love Western made things yet still spout a socialist philosophy.

    Capitalism is the means by which anyone may create wealth. Socialism is the means by which those in power can maintain and increase their power. Thus, for those in power it is good to espouse socialism but secretly practise capitalism.

    So because Chavez is crazy and sees his crazy political goals in every topic, you have to reciprocate?

    Anyway, Cats and rockets are a great combo. One-sided political statements that ignore the equally crazy conservatives out there are beneath you. And since we have never met, my ability to sense that means it is really far beneath you.

    Nope. Go on… point to where I’ve posted *anything* about the Black Eyed Peas.

    So… I should only post a political opinion if I take *both* sides? Sorry, I’m not a politician.

    I’m content to believe that the only thing between cats and rocketry is opposable thumbs, and they’re just keeping their mouths shut until they evolve a little.
