Likely Jared Lee Loughner Internet Postings Discuss NASA Conspiracies, Existence Of God

Jared Loughner, assassin of a Republican-appointed judge, posted a fair amount on Above Top Secret. ATS itself is a wretched hive of whackjobbery, but even there he stood out.

He posted nonsense about how  space travel is impossible, how video games are racist, how the Mars rovers are faked, and some truly impenetrable gibberish about time. In all of it, so far as I can tell, there are no references to the Tea Party, Glen Beck or Sarah Palin. Just a whole lot of CrAzY. Even so, he remains a useful tool for those who want to use his acts of evil to perpetrate further evil of their own. He is becoming the latest Marinus van der Lubbe… a ʎzɐɹɔ man’s evil acts being used to further totalitarian political aims.

As Charles Krauthammer wrote… “The origins of Loughner’s delusions are clear: mental illness. What are the origins of Krugman’s?”

  1. This guy is the nutcase that just keeps on giving. 😀
They had a story about his friends on network news tonight where they would go out into the desert to discuss Goth things, Goth computer games, firing their guns…and…are you ready for this?
    String theory physics.
Total number of dimensions in the universe?
    Probably Pi.
Three and then some – but you can never quite figure out exactly how many more than three there are in specific detail. 😀

  2. This is exactly the homicidal tragedy that could have happened to Einstein if he had seen firm evidence of God playing dice.

  3. Krauthammer and Krugman going at each other is a riot for if no other reason than what are all of us poor gentiles supposed to make of the big US Jewish hissy-fight regarding Israel?
Wouldn’t it be great if all Israeli policy was made by Sabras who actually had to live in the country, rather than getting “helpful” advice and financing from all their little Jewish friends around the world who know what’s better for them than native-born citizens of their own nation do?

  4. Looks like the ravings of a paranoid schizophrenic, and a pretty troubled one at that. The guy in that thread is pretty far off the rails, and I doubt he got that way overnight. The people near him had to know that this guy was delusional and potentially dangerous.

But dontcha know – He’s an *extremists*. Hillary Clinton said so yesterday in one of those godforsaken hell holes in the Middle East. I think it might have been Yemen. Paraphrasing, she said “we’ve got extremist just like you’ve got extremist, just the other day one shot one of our members of Congress”. Yeah, Hillary – musta been one of those damn Tea Party types.

  5. > He’s an *extremists*.

An important distinction… *this* particular “extremist” was motivated not by some well-established ideology, but by his own personal whackjobbery.

Of course if it is important that the US quash the sort of violent “hate speech” that is supposed to have motivated this nut… then doesn’t it follow that the US should quash violent “hate speech” that has motivated even more nutjobs to carry out more (and more effective) acts of violence?

    i came to this conclusions:
he has serious problem with Dyslexia
everything else he not understand, he believes is faked, so
everything is faked by the goverment believes he.

i anticipate on publication of his psychological report…

  7. Yes, of course I was being sarcastic about Hillary’s comment. When she uses the word *extremist* the words “right wing” are unvoiced but implied.

But certainly Jared Loughner is in a sense an *extremist* in that he is extremely mentally disturbed. But, I take issue with Hillary’s characterization that “we (the US) have extremist just like you (Yemen) do”. No Hillary, that is not correct. The extremist you are referring to in Yemen (i.e. Islamic terrorists) are not clinically mentally ill, at least not the vast majority of them. These are otherwise sane people who have decided to follow a religion that teaches them to convert the infidel at the point of a sword, and if he refuses to convert, to kill him. While you’re at it, randomly killing infidels in order to obtain their society’s compliance is a sanctioned method of evangelism. These people actually believe what to us are crazy ideas and are prepared to act on them, but they are not the equivalent of Jared Loughner.

By the way, when I say that Jared Lougher is almost certainly insane, I don’t believe this gives him a free pass for what he’s done. He’s demonstrated – in spades – that he is a danger to society. Frankly, I don’t believe that the current state of the art of the mental health field will ever be able to confidently determine that he is no longer a threat to society. Perhaps at some future date that may be possible but it would require major breakthroughs in the understanding of the brain and methods of treatment. As it stands today, if he is in fact schizophrenic (which is an assumption but I think reasonably likely) then he’s within a couple of days of not taking his meds to doing something like this again (and that assumes that current medications even works for him – they don’t in all cases). So, I think Jared Loughner minimally stays locked up for the rest of his natural life.
