Oil Rig Explodes Off Louisiana Coast

An offshore petroleum rig exploded and was burning Thursday in the Gulf of Mexico about 80 miles south of Vermilion Bay.

Wonderful.

Things just keep going wrong. This was probably not the “hope and change” people were looking for…

  1. How the hell is the President responsible for this?

  2. Well, when Bush and Cheney left the White House, control of the Halliburton Weather Control Machine (you know, the one that caused hurricane Katrina to trash NOLA) as well as the Secrit Mind Control Ray (the one that caused perfectly peaceful Muslims to fly into the World Trade Center) passed to the new administration. However, as has been amply demonstrated across the board, the Obama administration is staffed by incompetant chuckleheads, and they keep pushing the wrong buttons.

  3. Let’s see how long it takes the “sabotage” folk to reappear. I confess that I wonder somethings whether there was some intervention to prevent drilling.

  4. Scott, you didn’t answer the question “How is the president responsible for this?”. I respect your knowledge in things aerospace and engineering related, but I hate your politics.

  5. > you didn’t answer the question “How is the president responsible for this?”.

Yes, I did. The Halliburton Weather Machine. Makes Obama every bit as responsible for the myriad of disasters happening on his watch as Bush was for Katrina. Now, if you choose to see that as an indictment against Obama, fine. If you choose to see that as an indictment of those morons who thought that Bush was responsible for 9/11 or Ray Nagin’s failures in NOLA, fine.

    > I hate your politics

There’s no hate like Leftist hate. “Someone who believes that government *shouldn’t* be massive and unconstrained??? I hate him!”

  6. @novalia – I know this might be a difficult concept to process, but Scott is making a joke.

  7. Scott? You do understand that there are fires and explosions on oil rigs every day of the week? Right? Please tell me you are not so clueless as to believe this is not an every working day occurrence. Please.

  8. Boy howdy, this topic seems to have riled up the masses a bit.

  9. Yeah, they’;re rattling the bars a bit much. I feel neglected: my clever, subtle, half-hearted suggestion of sabotage was ignored! I guess that means they’re focused on the messenger(s).

Didn’t the Secrit Mind Control Ray come out of a 3M lab back in the late 50s?

  10. Huh. I suppose it is probably like a plane crash, each one is different and there is a lot that matters that doesn’t make the news.
