On December 18, 2018, the Kamchatka peninsula saw a meteoric fireball at an altitude of 25.6 km. With an impact velocity of 32 km/sec, the energy radiated was 1.4 X 10^13 J, or about 173 kilotons.

Russia does seem to get its share of celestial thwackage.
