Let me know when this sort of thing:

A: Doesn’t sound like a mafia-esque protection racket threat

B: Sounds like reasoned, mature governance worthy of the President of the USA.

<> “My administration,” the president added, “is the only thing between you and the pitchforks.”

Again, ask yourself: if Bush had made this sort of veiled threat/wink-and-a-nod to those who want to kill law abiding Americans, would the media have been all over it?

  1. “According to the accounts of sources inside the room, President Obama told the CEOs exactly what he expects from them, and pushed back forcefully when they attempted to defend Wall Street’s legendarily high-paying ways.”

As a taxpaying voter I completely support any (ok, ok, reasonable) pressure by the president on the finance companies who have looted our economy.

And this, ““My administration,” the president added, “is the only thing between you and the pitchforks.”” is a figure of speech. Presidents get to use them.

    Let’s rephrase that for accuracy:

“I completely support any (ok, ok, reasonable) pressure by the president on the Congress that has looted our economy.”

This mess is directly attributable to an excess of “regulation” in the form of the government spending 20 years trying to jam “social justice” into lending institutions. And hey… use whatever force you think is appropriate to get Barney Frank to return the economy we used to have.

And “staggeringly incompetant Socialist douchenozzle of a President” is also a figure of speech.

  3. I second that motion.
