An interesting exercise… mapping out the US and Canada and parts of Mexico based not on state boundaries or geology or political regions, but on culture/voting.  While the authors bias is blatant (the point of the exercise is to explain  why some regions have different gun control laws, and he drops such logic-bombs as claiming that America’s overall rate of death from assault is several times that of Britain, when the facts seem to indicate just the opposite; the author also specifically insults the Deep South and Far West), it’s still an interesting summary of cultures.
