Just announced, the discovery of a previously un-noted star system only 6.5 light years away. however, the binary star system is composed of two brown dwarfs, so it’d be small, dim and cold. The dwarfs are too small to spark nuclear fusion, so any internal heat come from the heat bound up in the original dust/gas cloud collapse that formed them, some heat generated by nuclear fission of heavy elements in their rocky cores, and some heat generated y tidal forces.

Still, it’s interesting to find stuff that close. As noted, if there is a radio receiver there that can pick up terrestrial TV programs, they’re picking up shows from 2006.
