For those interested in my Space Station V project, you’ll probably be not entirely surprised to hear than I’ve kinda become engrossed in the LK project. Still, there is progress to report.

For a good long while things were at a standstill… I’d been informed of the possibility of a high-rez version of the “face-on” photo of the studio model. it took a long time to get, with some stumbles on the way, but I finally got it. And high-rez meant that much smaller details that were previously only fuzzily guessable are now *kinda* clear. So, that meant that not only was a more detailed and accurate model possible… it was pretty much required.

So when I’m not plugging away on the LK, plugging away on the SSV is a current project. It is just a whole steaming pile of little details… not remotely entertaining, boring as hell, but needed. So the current state of things is shown in the screenshot of the CAD diagram as it currently sits. Starting at the 9 o’clock position and moving clockwise to about the 10 o’clock, you can see a mass of little purple blobs. These are the details in-place. The rest of the purple blobs are pre-fabricated little blocks, arrayed around and awaiting placement. The green lines are, clearly, radial lines, used to make sure things line up right. As work continues, the details will march around clockwise until they get all the way around, at which point these details will be incorporated directly onto the 3D CAD model.
