So YouTube decided I needed to see a video from 2011, describing Whitney Houstons disastrous “comeback” tour in Europe. Like a lot of celebrities, her talent, such as it was, had turned to garbage due to drugs and ego, leading one critic to say (at the 37 second point) “she looked and sounded like a person who doesn’t have many years left to live.” Huh. I looked her up on Wikipedia: she died Feb 11, 2012 (in retrospect, that’s almost ten years ago, so maybe the YouTube algorithm is spooling up for the decade-festivities), about ten months after this piece originally aired. I hope the critic put in a bet at Lloyd’s of London about that…

There have been a number of single-shot .50 BMG pistols over the years. None of ’em really seem like the sort of thing I’d want to shoot too often.

This is base don the same Serbu configuration that went kerblooey on Kentucky Ballistics some months back. Except in this case if it did that, it would shoot that endcap right directly into your face. So, ummm, watch out what you load this with.

Scot posted ‘only good Brit soldier is a deed one’ and ‘burn auld fella’ after Captain Tom death

In short: A Scottish guy posted nasty opinions after the death of an elderly British solider of some note. This is not news, of course; whenever anyone of *any* note dies, you’re going to have all manner of people loudly posting all manner of classless stuff (example: just imagine what the internet-tubes will be filled with when Hillary! or Gropey Joe or Ted Cruz or Donald Trump keel over). But Britain has decided that saying nasty stuff like “burn in Hell” is now a criminal offense, as the poster has been convicted of posting a “grossly offensive” statement, and will be sentenced in March.

This opens an *astounding* door into legal chaos in Britain. The BBC will now likely take their already shockingly censored reporting of the waves of gang rapes and industrial-scale grooming of British girls by foreign colonizers and probably just not report on it at all, for fear that they will be brought up on charges of offending the criminal class and their enablers. Anyone who says *anything* against race rioters or who complains that British history is being re-written will also likely face legal assault.

It is just barely possible that this legal tactic will be used against  those who would erase the British from British history, but I wouldn’t bet on it. Still, “grossly offensive” is such a wishy-washy foundation upon which to base criminal cases, it’s at least conceivable that those who argue online that such-and-such figure from British history was racists and needs to be canceled, their statues torn down and their name scrubbed off buildings, might find themselves in the dock.

Now people are fighting over steak.

40-person brawl breaks out in Golden Corral over reported steak shortage

Here’s the thing, though. I went to YouTube to look up this video (some people can’t see embedded twitter vids), and found a number of “fight at Golden Corral” videos. One wonders at such a thing. Conclusions? Draw your own. Is Golden Corral the harbinger of collapse? Or does Chuck E. Cheese still hold the reins on that dubious distinction?

We’ve all seen the videos of scumbags loading up in stores and just marching right out, knowing that the employees can’t stop them. The thing I’ve always wondered… sure, the employees can’t do squat, but what about the bystanders?

Sometimes they can, and do.

‘Gut instinct’: Woman who thwarted alleged shoplifter at B.C. Walmart speaks up

She’s 73 and waded right in. What would *you* do?

I ain’t a Christian. I also do not like magic (as in the fictional supernatural stuff, not what Penn & teller do on stage). And yet… I’ve been a fan of the Lord of the Rings and associated works since the 80’s. The LotR books are slopping over with obvious and not so obvious Christian themes and ideas, and with wizards and magic and such… and they’re awesome, because they’re well written and, importantly, *not* *stupid.* I do not have to be an adherent to a particular religion to recognize when someone is drawing inspiration from it.

And then there’s this guy.

No, Tolkien’s “The Lord of the Rings” isn’t Christian

My recommendation is to give the article linked above a pass (it is, after all, likely mere click- and rage-bait, designed to drive traffic by claiming something so fundamentally stupid that you’ll go there to rage-read, comment and drive up ad revenue) and go straight to the YouTube debunking of this nonsense:

The developed world is being flooded with “migrants.” This is far beyond deniable at this stage. The only debatable questions are “why is this happening,” “why does it continued to be allowed,” and “is it too late to do anything about it other than hope Elon Musk makes interplanetary colonization possible before the influx of the third world into the first destroys the ability of civilization to survive out in space.”

The fact that such a large percentage  of the “migrants” are young males says a lot about the goals of the endeavor. The lands they leave behind are populated with their women and children; those lands will continue to be what they have been. The lands they enter will be colonized and changed; far too many are stories of “migrants” who attack locals, get arrested and then receive leniency – or are outright released – because their savagery is part of their original culture, and Obama forbid that host nations expect immigrants to adapt.

A smidge of hypocrisy:

European edition:

I do, however, have a compromise to deal with *all* of the worlds problems. The first video claims that the media focus on Ukraine/Russia is to divert attention from the ongoing invasion of the US. Well, maybe. Thing is, Russia invading Ukraine would be a bad thing regardless. So… my idea: scoop up a few dozen million of these military age male migrants. The US has a lot to spare, as does France, Britain, Belgium, Germany, Sweden, etc.  Gather them all together in staging areas, and if Russia invades Ukraine or China invades Taiwan, drop these conscripts into the war zone. Hell, maybe even arm a few of them with bolt action rifles or something. Let them be useful, rather than cultural, financial and demographic drags on their host nations.

So HBO sent me an email:

“Lunar new year doesn’t officially begin until February 1…”

Ummm… “lunar new year” isn’t a thing in the US. It’s certainly not a holiday, nor is it in any way “official.” New year in the US is January 1, full stop. Was this email meant for China, or some other backwards region that erroneously links the year to the Moon rather than the Sun?
