A person plowed their SUV through the Waukesha Christmas Parade and more than 20 people are injured, with some fatalities authorities say

The way this is written, it seems reasonably certain that the driver was not having a medical episode, or fell asleep or anything like that, but did this intentionally. Reference is made to a cop shooting at them. No info as yet about who the driver was or what the motivation might have been… but people intentionally ramming Christmas festivities with sizable vehicles is not exactly an unknown occurrence.

UPDATE: A recording of police radio *seems* to give a description of the driver and his name. If this is accurate… well, let’s just say that BLM and the anti-Kenosha Kid forces will probably not have a lot to say.

This fine upstanding citizen has a number of rap videos, at least until they get deleted. And yes, his “rap music” is as talent-free as you might expect. Interestingly, his murder weapon – the Ford SUV – is on display in this video. Kinda curious how long until YouTube yanks the vids…

It’s no wonder he went bugnuts… he thought the idiot noise he was making was actual music. Maybe someone played him some Pat Boone and his brain finally snapped. I shudder to imagine what might have occurred had he been exposed to some Beethoven. He might have undergone complete proton reversal.

YouTube decided that I needed to see this trailer:

It’s yet another sportsball movie. Yawn. But the schtick here is that the sportsballers in question are college, not professional, and there is some movement afoot to get them paid and get them medical insurance. Because the sportsballers currently don’t get paid, while their coaches and other staff can have salaries measured in millions; and while the staff have careers lined up for potentially decades, most of the sportsballers *won’t* go on to become professionals.

Message: boo hoo poor college sportsballers who spend several years getting feted and fawned over and provided with enough cars and other gifts and whatnot that if they weren’t idiots they could fund a pretty decent post-college retirement even without moving on to professional sportsball.

However, my takeaway is this: stop funding college sportsball. Instead of giving the coach six million dollars a year, give that money to the nuclear engineering department. Give it to the college Chess Team or the RC Airplane team or the Liquid Propellant Rocket Racing To The Stratosphere team. Or the Medical department. Or the physics lab. Or the library, to keep actual books on actual stacks that the students can actually access. You know… what academics are *supposed* to be about.

If these people are worried about college sportsballers getting so injured that they’ll need medical insurance more than the average college student, then clearly sportsball is an unwarranted risk. Get rid of it, turn the stadiums into lab spaces (imagine what the Ag Science department could do with an average football field) and instead of football and basketball, focus Rah Rah Go Team instead onto the Chess team, the college Halo/Call of Duty/Donkey Kong team.

There. Problem solved.

Lakehead University-led research team receiving $1.2 million to investigate cancer prevention using traditional healing

A Lakehead University professor and her research team in partnership with traditional knowledge holders and Waasegiizhig Nanaandawe’iyewigamig Health Access Centre (WNHAC) are receiving $1.2 million in CIHR funding to explore the efficacy of using traditional healing to prevent cancer.

Dr. Lana Ray, Assistant Professor in Indigenous Learning at Lakehead and the University’s Indigenous Research Chair in Decolonial Futures, will work with WNHAC, traditional knowledge holders, and researchers from Lakehead University, Nipissing University and the University of Toronto to carry out the work over five years.

This project will implement traditional healing activities to address the impacts of colonialism in WNHAC’s service area. It will evaluate the impacts of the intervention through a pre- and post-design that will explore and measure risks and protective factors.

Using an Indigenous mixed methods research approach, this study will privilege Indigenous ways of knowing and doing and tangible outcomes for Indigenous communities through the implementation of medicine camps and traditional health practitioner visits.

Colonialism is fundamentally about severing Anishinaabe peoples’ deep spiritual relationships to land. The anti-thesis to that is Anishinaabe systems of traditional healing that are grounded in a deep love and respect for the land and the knowledge that it possesses, Dr. Ray explained.

That’s *glorious.* Not only are they woke, they’re willing to put peoples lives at risk to prove it. And when it inevitably proves to be of little or negative value, rest assured that they’ll blame colonialism for the failure of their bone-headed superstitious gibberish.

Smallpox is *supposed* to exist only at the CDC in Georgia and an equivalent facility in Moscow. The fact that samples of it *may* exist elsewhere is bad. That samples may exist elsewhere under virtually no security whatsoever? Oh, that’s just magnificent.

“For the general public there is no basis for being worried, even a small amount,” Ebright said.

Well, I’m relieved.

Pretty sure I got the smallpox vaccine when I was a kid. I have doubts that it’d be all that effective all this time later. But even if it remained 100% effective, it has been *decades* since smallpox vaccination was a thing, and I shudder to imagine the inconvenience of having to step over the corpses of Millenials and Gen Z’ers scattered all over the place. Just the *smell*… yeesh, it’d be like an Antifa/Juggalo love-in.

So a know-nothing journalist set out to research and write a hit piece on the concept of “ghost guns” by taking an 80% kit and finishing it to a functional firearm. The idea seemed to be to show just how easy it is for criminal types to get a gun that the law says they shouldn’t have. Two problems, though: first, the job turned out to be far harder than the journalist had expected. Second problem: the journalist set out to obey all the law in his quest to make a “ghost gun,” but in the process he seems to have unintentionally broken a truckload of laws. Thing is, these are dumb California laws, the sort of laws that clearly exist solely to trap regular folks. The kind of laws that exist solely to dissuade people from exercising their basic rights. But will *this* guy get charged? After all, he has the right politics.

A video was put together to explain what laws the journalist broke. Takes more than twenty minutes to go through it. Strictly speaking this guy is far more of a lawbreaker that Rittenhouse ever dreamed of being.

In saner times, we would all read this story and, while all admitting that it’s a sad tragedy, we’d also all look at the father described here and say “Now that… that was a man.” This would be followed by a grave head nod, a slow non-ironic golf clap, the pouring out of libations, the solemn murmurings of oaths and/or prayers, a warning given to those in Valhalla or StoVo Kor that A Man is coming. Sadly, these are not sane times.

“Don’t Look Up” is a forthcoming netflix movie where astronomers discover a comet on a direct impact course with Earth… and neither the government nor the media seem to care. In an era of “Russia collusion” and “mostly peaceful protests” and “wage gaps” and all the other bits of misinformation , propaganda and outright lies that people in the media and government just shrug at, I can see indifference being the response to the end of the world.

How is it that people can be *this* friggen’ stupid? It’s like he’s trying to throw his own case. And that may be the case… the prosecution of Rittenhouse has been so inept that a mistrial might be the only chance these yahoos have to assure that their show trial gets the result they want.

As many have pointed out, by pointing a firearm at people, Binger should have been mobbed by the people int he courtroom. he lost the right to defend himself the moment he drew down on the jury.

China certainly seems to be in ascendance, while the US is definitely in decline. The latter fact does not need to be true, but we, like the British Empire before us, are allowing it to happen. When the US fades, *someone* (or several someones) will certainly attempt to step in and fill the void. The void will be one of power, of course, economic and military. but it will also be one of culture… views on individual liberty, cultural norms, ethics and so on. Anyone who can fill the military/economic void will bring their culture with them, and there’s not a reason in the entire universe why their culture needs to be as enlightened as America’s has been.

So, if you’re happy to see the US back off, get ready for *this* on a global scale:

Health workers in China are killing pets while their owners are in quarantine

In one case, a dog owner named Ms Fu witnessed through her home security camera as people clothed in hazmat suits entered her home and beat her pet corgi to death with iron rods while she was away in a quarantine facility. She tested negative for the coronavirus.

Sure, the fifty million – or more – Chinese dead at the hands of the Chinese Communist Party is certainly a bigger deal than minor functionaries killing pets. But somehow modern campus leftists and ChiCom apologists seem perfectly happy to wave away the deaths of mere *humans;* after all, the only thing worse for the Earth than humans are white cishet capitalist humans, and a lot of lefties would be perfectly happy to see a lot of *that* *type* exterminated. But puppies and kittens? A little harder to gloss over murdering *them.*

And of course there’s the little problem that China is actively destroying the planet. Not only are they belching CO2 into the air at a phenomenal rate, they are dumping vast mountains of toxic garbage into the ocean… at the same time they’re stripping the oceans bare of all life. There are worse things that could happen than if Chinas fishing fleet were sent to the bottom.

Nixon opening China to the world will be seen in future centuries by the few remaining historians as one of the worst ideas in all human history. Sounded good at the time, but the unintended consequence could well be the conversion of Earth into a sparsely populated trash heap.
