Nifty video of a 747-8 undergoing testing: accelerate down the runway to 200 mph, then slam on the brakes and see how fast you can stop. Bonus difficulty: no thrust reversers. Bonus bonus difficulty: the brakes were pre-worn 100%. Behold as the brakes glow a merry orange.

That was pretty cool.
We can hope that the aircraft will never have to do that in a real life case, but nice that they’ve tested and verified how well it works.
