Lots of Laughter on this one. People can be such morons and idiots — This is one of those things that you can’t help laughing at. Yeah, it’s funny but it’s also sad that someone would dupe themselves into wasting their whole entire life savings on announcing the end of the world.

But then again we may have to realize it may be the end of the world ofr the poor shmuck — he may want to kill himslef when he sees he has no life savings left and the world hasn’t ended. It’s too bad he never really read the Bible or the Book of Revelations.

Here’s what you can do: figure out “when the world will end” and have people send you money for “safekeeping.” After all, they won’t need it when the “world ends,” will they now?

  2. I have tried getting them to deed their property to me. They do not reply to my inquiries. Funny — you’d think a real believer would have no problem signing over his bank accounts, race horses, and real estate. He’s not going to need them, after all.

By the way, the book is “Revelation”, not “Revelations”.

It’s an obvious idea. And throughout the long, sad history of false prophesies of doom, lots of people have scored some pretty good deals off of people who decided to ditch their stuff because the End Was Nigh. Sadly, I’ve never been able to get in on that action. I recently had a discussion witha good friend on the subject; she was quite clear that it would be unethical to take advantage of one of these nuts by, say, buying their house for 500 bucks. But I’m not so sure: if I’m open and up front with my belief that they are wrong, then I’m hardly screwing ’em out of their stuff; they’re going into the deal with their eyes as wide open as they choose to open them.

      Oh well.

Either way, it’s clear evidence that schizophrenia predates Mohammad by *centuries.* John must’ve been wacky fun at the Patmos Ergot Fan Club.

  3. Ok, let’s try this again…
