  1. That top left hand picture appears to have been taken at the Huntsville Space and Rocket center which is of course next to the Marshal Spaceflight Center and Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL. Is that where the Gemini boilerplate came from?

  2. Is the museum selling theirs or did someone commit Grand Theft Gemini?

  3. The photo under that photo (with the blue sign next to it and the picnic tables and dumpster in the background) was also taken at the USSRC.

This photo is presumably from Americans in Orbit – 50 Years, as it appeared when collectSPACE (scroll about half-way down). The text of the release is on the AIO site:

In July, Russell took the first step in preparation for the February 20, 2012 “America’s Launch” mission when he transported a boilerplate Gemini capsule from Kansas City, MO, to the U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, AL where it is currently on display. The capsule is “on loan” to AIO-50 from Vince Lawrence, president of SpaceCraftRentals.com.

BTW – I don’t believe that Marshall played any significant part in Project Gemini.

  4. Yeah, it was used by Americans in Orbit ( I was involved with the project for a while at UAH).

  5. Heck of a keg–that’s probably what it will wind up being–a still.
