I really am suprised though that the driver wasn’t charged.
Like with virtually all modern journalism, a whole lot of relevant details were simply ignored. I’ve googled around for more info on the story, and the truck is simply this thing that shows up in about one line, with almost no further mention. It appears that the day in question – Feb 4 – was rainy and dark, and the girls weren’t paing adequate attention to cars. It may be that they simpky dashed out in front of the truck from between parked cars. In that case, the truck driver would hardly have been at fault, and even at 20 miles an hour would do all kinds of damage to a little girl.
In all the articles I’ve dug up, there’s no more info about the driver than he/she is not being charged. But *damn*. Imagine how the driver feels about all this.

That’s modern day journalism for you. They don’t tell you anything or give you any significant details. But, ultimately, what can you expect from Yahoo News.
“Journalists” today forget the: Who, What, When, and Where. ANd “Just the facts, Ma’am.”
Also they forget that you are not supposed to mention yourself in I news story. I hate it when news writers or journalists do that,
Actually the best story would be: “Kids not allowed to cross street until old enough to do it properly. No one hurt.”
And how old would that be, exactly? How old until a kid can ride a bus or use a subway?
