While family members looking goofy in group photos is a timeless constant, it took the 1970’s to turn “fashion” and “hair style” into something of lasting shame.

Back in the 90s, I had an older teacher tell me that she started to see things change in her world of teaching during the 70s. A loss of interest in excellence, a tendency to promote those who were “different,” and things like that. She blamed the 60s. Maybe these photos are the evidence she was right.
