A few months late, but still… some sci-fi science:

Spence’s bionic eye contains a battery-powered, wireless video camera. Not only can he record everything he sees just by looking around, but soon people will be able to log on to his video feed and view the world through his right eye.

Hmmm. Now, where have I heard of that idea before…

  1. gotta love g’kar….

“No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom. Against that power tyrants and dictators cannot stand. The Centauri learned that lesson once. We will teach it to them again. Although it take a thousand years, we will be free.”

  2. Collective consciousness? Borg? He’s projecting some scary stuff.

I prefer a cutoff between my brain and computer.

  3. Best G’kar scene was when everyone was considering him a messiah, and he had one of his groupies take a really close look into his book… then slammed it shut on his head.
Another goody was his little discussion with Londo Molari when they thought they were both going to die trapped in the elevator.
“Or, as the humans say: ‘Up yours, buddy!’ ” šŸ˜€
That series was an absolute gem.
He also did a superb job as Romulan commander Tomalak in STTNG.
Tomalak: “Have you consulted with the Federation regarding this?”
    Picard: “No.”
Tomalak: “I like it already.” šŸ˜€

  4. Where the whole Tomalak/Picard concept came from was an idea they had for the original Star Trek TV series that never got developed.
The Enterprise was going to be assigned to a section of space that stood on the the Federation side of the uneasy border between Klingon/Federation space, and Kirk was going to be running into his Klingon opposite number on his battlecruiser repeatedly – to the point where both of them knew each other fairly well, and they both were constantly jockeying to advance their own side’s agenda any way they could.
It’s a pity they never developed this in TOS or TNG, as the concept has a lot of inherent fun about it.

  5. Andreas Katsulas, an underappreciated actor that will be sorely missed. RIP.

I loved B5, but certainly the support acting of Jurasik & Katsulas were the best performances throughout the series, no question. They filled those two characters out completely. And the interplay between them was always a joy to watch.

  6. Good start. Now attach this idea to it:
