This is *beyond* sick and wrong:
ANY ITEM that looks like a gun will have to be licensed under several changes to the Weapons Act being considered by the Queensland State Government.
Even guns made out of materials as unlikely as soap or plastic may have to be kept under lock and key if they could “reasonably be taken to be a weapon”. …

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
“In certain circumstances, religion will be a lawful excuse for carrying a knife and police who take their service-issue firearms home will be exempted.”
Perhaps it’s time to start a religion where carrying a firearm is a requirement?
This is just too ridiculous of a proposal, it can’t be true. It’s an absurd waste of time and government resources. It just can’t be a serious proposal.
Opportunity knocks. Consider how many persons you personally shot with the gun made from the proper combination of folded and unfolded fingers. I suggest an Australian design patent for “A simulated hand-made firearm of the pistol family” using the human hand as the basis.
If that doesn’t work, perhaps one might make money off design patents for everything firearmish that’s currently sold in Oz.
Someone Down Under is testing the waters. Perhaps as a joke, but the scary part of this is that we feel a government might be so childish and cowardly as to consider this. We have lost our belief that government workers are sane and rational.

That time was around 2500 years ago. From the W.H.Auden translation of the Havamal:
A wayfarer should not walk unarmed,
But have his weapons to hand:
He knows not when he may need a spear,
Or what menace meet on the road.
Among some Asatruar, there is an ongoing debate regarding whether or not “spear” can be updated. The generally accepted modernization is to consider the spear to be the equivalent of a pistol or shotgun… cheap, easy for anyone to aquire and learn to use. The sword is the equivalent of the modern high-end assault rifle, since both are expensive and more challenging to learn to use properly. The bow would of course be the Barrett or other long range sniper weapons.
Among other Asatruar, the debate is long since settled: of *course* “spear” can and should be updated.
Odin supports shall-issue.
That’s not a gun, mate…_this_ is a gun:

“I’m sorry sir, but I’m afraid I’m going to have to confiscate your fingers.”

But would really prefer Vermont/Alaska style carry?
This is beyond f*cked up. And I second the “guns as religion” call. After all, if the Moslems can get away with it, why can’t we?
> really prefer Vermont/Alaska style carry?
Almost certainly. However, Odin was a pragmatic sort of god, and would recognize that sometimes you have to go a step at a time.
in Belgium the Weapons Act is worse as of the Queensland State
here you is most times not allowed to possess weapon at all !
licences are only give after the police dig in your life and shrink true your mind
all five years a gun owner has to make a checkup by the shrink again
by the way,
now belgian people are killing each other with knifes or screwdriver…
That’s f**kin retarded! Seriously.
