The last of ’em is a C-130 with an entirely new wing, large enough to fit four sizable lift fans. The fans would be driven by high-pressure gas tapped off of the six turbojet engines mounted atop the wings.
That one looks very expensive to develop.
It’s getting modified so radically by this design concept that they might want to consider starting over with a whole new design rather than basing it on the C-130 at all.
