UPDATE: just got confirmation that this will be kitted in 1/144 scale. This will be a fairly impressively-sized kit… it will basically cover a standard 8.5X11 sheet of paper.

Arrrr, mateys, she be done now. All that’s left is to scale this thing (still waiting to hear back on exactly what scale this is going to be), make any adjustments needed if it’s the smaller scale, spread the parts out (a notable task itself) and ship it off. There are some flaws and oversights in the CAD model; I’m going to fix ’em in post with good ol’ sandpaper and bondo. If anyone comes along and proves that the design is utterly wrong, though, I’m’a shoot ’em dead in the face.

  1. What scale are you going to use, anyway?
The thing would be majestic in 1/72, but that’s probably way too big.
1/100 would probably still make it pretty big, but doable.
    1/144? Too small?
At least stick to a “standard” scale, rather than going into some oddball one like Heller did with their rockets (1/128 fer God’s sake)
…if they had done this in 1/48, or even better, 1/32, I’d have ordered one in no time flat, as I love the design:

But 1/72 scale was too small to make it worth the effort.
Angelina Jolie looked drop-dead gorgeous in that bubble helmet and eye-patch.
I think that was a sexual fantasy of my youth after seeing all those sci-fi illustrations from the 1950’s.
Someday, this absolutely knock-out babe is going show up wearing a full pressure suit and bubble helmet from the future; the fact she has a eye-patch will show she has faced combat and survived…and is not to be trifled with.
She will invite you to become a warrior in defense of humanity against a hidden and terrible menace from Earth’s future, as is your destiny.
You will succeed in this, and show her what _real_ men were like in bed versus the anemic future men, who now only have 2” long cocks due to the weak degenercy of their future evolution under a one-world liberal socialist government.
    But I digress.

  2. I haven’t contacted the guy interested in an r/c model . He’s on Facebook, are you on Facebook?

  3. > are you on Facebook?

Nope. Nor Twitter, or any other form of “social media.” There is a sufficiency of info out there about me already, and I’ve already enough time-wasters to deal with.

  4. Facebook? I got a Facebook page for a specific reason, and the vast majority of my communication through Facebook has had nothing to do with what I wanted to talk about. I’m giving serious thought to scrapping it.

How big was that thing in “real life”?

  5. 1/144 is a good scale to use; many spacecraft models are in that scale, and it’s pretty much standard for airliners also.
N gauge trains are fairly close to that scale also (1/148 to 1/160), so you might be able to get some N gauge figures and show the thing landed in a diorama.
Also, those science fiction Gundam power suits are made in 1/144, so that’s a match made in heaven:
