Short form: nine “Asian” men in Britain (Aftab Khan, Abid Khaliq, Noorzai Ahmed, Mohammed Anwar Safi, Mohammed Khan, Najibullah Safi, Asad Yousaf Hassa, Mohammed Basharat, Mohammed Atif) drugged and kidnapped a 14 year old girl, repeatedly raped her and forced her to work as a prositute before she escaped. The trial for these “men” just ended. They were found guilty of the crimes. Guess how long their sentences were. Go on, guess.

Seven years. Eight months. Four years. Thirty-one months. Four years. Two years. Two years. Two years. Two years.

Gah.

IMO, they should all be destroyed, their bodies cremated and dumped in random landfill. Their names stricken from all public records, their properties broken up and sold, the proceeds going to the victim. Of which you can bet there was not just one.

But no. Just a few years. Hopefully they will find that the fate of the child rapist in prison is often not a pleasant one. Even thieves and gangbangers have some sense of honer, stunted though it may be.

  1. I suspect that such sentences reflect the court’s desire to prevent retaliatory terrorism.

  2. If that’s the case then the court is abdicating is responsibility to see justice done, and is de facto encouraging more such atrocities. The more I read about the spread of Islam in Britain (or anywhere) the more I despair for civilization.

  3. “…the more I despair for civilization.”

I’m beginning to wonder if this isn’t one possible answer to Fermi’s Paradox: Any civilization that develops the technology to send radio waves across interstellar distances inevitably develops a ruling class that panders to the uncivilized members of society. This leads to a fall of said civilization…

  4. Nasty, and perhaps typical of a misogynistic islamic culture.

On a tangent – Why do we regard rape as worse than other forms of assault? Being stabbed beaten or shot is in many ways more dangerous and harmful, rape will seldom produce lasting physical damage. (Yes I know there is the possiblity of disease)

I’ve been beaten up a few times by strangers and don’t live in fear or feel that it affects me, and I often wonder if we make rape worse in our society because we tell people that they should be traumatised. In other situations like nasty military situations, sickness, accidents and other things we have no control over the best approach is just to forget about it and get on with your life.

Thoughout history violence and rape have probably been the norm for a large proportion of the population – I bet they did not stress about it the way we do today.

My last thought is that in giving rape special status as a form of assault are we not pandering to the historical/religious role of women as chattels?

Reading that back I sound pretty creepy, I guess I am just trying to look at it from a purely rational point of view.

  5. > I often wonder if we make rape worse in our society because we tell people that they should be traumatised.

Rape is worse because it *makes* people traumatized. I’ve seen the effects that it can have on someone. I’ve never been involved in rape, one way or the other, and have managed to avoid getting mugged and the like. What I’ve seen has been second-hand. But what I’ve seen has been enough to convince me that rapists need to be pushed off a cliff. Not locked up, not given treatment or counselling… removed *permanently* from the society of mankind. Murderers might be rehabilitated, or turned into soldiers. Thieves might find gainful employment for their skills. Rapists are a useless evil.

    > I bet they did not stress about it the way we do today.

People also did not stress too much over slavery. We evolved. Well, some of us, anyway.

    > in giving rape special status as a form of assault are we not pandering to the historical/religious role of women as chattels

Men who get raped seem to be more traumatized than men who get simply bludgeoned. Thought experiment: the movie “Fight Club,” which has since found actual expression in the real world. Men get together and willingly beat the crap out of each other, start fights with strangers and intentionally lose, etc. Lots of guys saw this and thought “it’d hurt, but it’d be fulfilling on some level.” Now imagine that the movie concept was instead “Rape Club.” Not that the men would go out and rape someone, but that they’re submitting themselves to the possibility that some other guys are going to jump out of the shadows sometime, beat them into submission and then rape them. Unless this was some sort of gay porn, I can’t imagine that this would find much of an audience. While a guy might think of another guy punching him in the face as some sort of cathartic release, the thought of getting forcefully porked up the keister is *not* something that inspires straight males with any sort of positiveness. Those it happens to can be seriously wrecked by it.

  6. Siergen, I like that idea. May I quote you?

So far, no one has shown me any reason to be even mildly sympathetic toward Islam.

  7. Jeffery Dahmer only served 33 months of his 15 life sentences.
    -G.

  8. Michael – sure, if you think my ramblings are worth quoting, go for it!

  9. When you show compassion to the guilty, you deny justice to the innocent.

Another despicable case involving Islam; did anyone else hear about the mother in Canada who got a 3-year suspended sentence for strangling her own daughter to death?

    http://www.cbc.ca/canada/calgary/story/2010/07/15/calgary-magomadova-sentence-strangled-daughter.html

The article said she used a “scarf,” but we all know it was a Muslim headscarf, which is just adding insult to injury in a case like this.
