It seems that Mexican paramilitary forces have invaded and taken parts of Laredo, Texas.

If true, you’d think that that would be kinda newsworthy. Given the the FBI has demonstrated a willingness to surround Texan compounds before and use tanks to help kill virtually everyone inside, ya gotta kinda wonder what sort of response would be called for here, now that actually dangerous people are involved.

You’ve got to feel bad about the owners of the ranches, of  course. Their homes are being trashed at this very moment, and either law enforncement will doing nothing, or they’ll come in and firebomb the place.

  1. Where are the news people? After the experiences in the Middle East, they might prefer to cover a real shooting war closer to McDonald’s and Motel 6.

I watched the John Wayne movie “Chisum” last night.

  2. Why haven’t these a**holes been bombed back to the stone age?

  3. They’re already in the stone age; we’ve armed them.

Whether this is true really doesn’t matter. What’s important here is that we think they would do this if they had the opportunity, and we think that our government would be slow to respond and would hide the event.

  4. Looks like a bad time to walk out in the Streets of Laredo…Well, if you thought I was going to pass up the chance for that pun…(!) But seriously…You can’t put up with this! Doesn’t anyone remember the Alamo? Oh, sorry…this really isn’t funny…Can’t any of you ask your Congressman what’s going on, and what is going to be done about it? It all reminds me of that film with Peter Ustinov as a modern Mexican general who re-takes the Alamo! Tell your Government to get a grip!

  5. The way to save our country is to give a $500 tax refund to every citizen that uses eMachineShop to design and fabricate any object.

  6. Times like this I’m glad I put the qualifier “If true” in there.

  7. Thank Klono it’s fake…but as someone said, the thing is, the tragedy is, it’s believable! Ah, well:
“Ah see by yo’ outfit, that yo’ are a cowboy,” he feebly said as I boldly walked by,
“Come sit down beside me, and hear mah sad story,
“Fo’ ahm a young cowboy, an’t’day Ah must die…”

  8. The site has an “update” stating the story is “100% true” and has been confirmed by a source in the Laredo police department. Still no ‘hard’ evidence cited though…

The cited sources for the article(s) all state the violence has taken place on the Mexican side of the border and not in the US.
