It really impresses me how well your camera picks up star colors compared to those using color film. Those photos look better than those that show up in most astronomy books from the 1970’s and 80’s in regards to mapping the heavens.

It’s both impressive and sad the way that the very best imagery possible out of the very biggest telescopes in the world when I was a kid can be outclassed by some backyard amateur these days. Compare the latest issue of “Sky & Telescope” to an expensive astronomy book from before Hubble. There’s no damned comparison.

Do satellites ever show up in the images?
All the time.
Should see if you could get the ISS in one of the images; that’s awfully bright nowadays, especially if the Shuttle is docked with it.
