Tonight the House approve and Obama signed the 2300-page government takeover of healthcare. What ar ethe immediate effects? Well, here’s one. Tomorrow I’m going to go out and sign up for welfare. To hell with it.

  1. The cats are going to be eating welfare steaks?

  2. Maybe food stamps cover cat food.

  3. I, and the Wife and Boy, will continue to not give these anti-American f**ks any money. They want our money? They can come with guns to take it, like all the other crackheads. Fuck them.

  4. I’m on disability, so much of this not affect me. Of course, it may knock me off disability. I’ve been looking into economic asylum in Britain anyway: I’m plotting to claim that America doesn’t hire anyone over 45, but Britain does, and so I want to be there so that I can accomplish something.

  5. i’m also disabled on Medical in California living in a convalescent home. I used to have Blue Cross but my monthly bill was over $600 when it ran out (cal-cobra) in oct ’08. Being able to get coverage with my existing conditions is a huge plus for me and will hopefully allow me to recover to the point where I can contribute as much as I take out.

  6. In Canada, I think people on welfare get extra money if they have pets, just like they would with children.

  7. I use the VA for most things. Use TRICARE – Standard for everything else.

I can’t understand how spending almost one trillion dollars to cover 30 million Americans makes sense. Hopefully the courts zap this bill.

  8. I’m currently on disability as well. Join the club.

  9. “So this is how liberty dies… with thunderous applause.”

  10. So, are you going to put up posters of your photos in town as a new version of the WPA?

  11. “i’m also disabled on Medical in California living in a convalescent home. I used to have Blue Cross but my monthly bill was over $600 when it ran out (cal-cobra) in oct ‘08.”

Forgive my bluntness, but I have to ask. Cal-Cobra lets employees keep coverage for up to 36 months. What on earth happened that you have had to spend more than 3 years in convalescence?

  12. In Dec 05 I went into the hospital disoriented from exhaustion due to a flair up of colitis. They thought I was schizo so they gave me a med called Risperdal which put me into a coma. My parents flew out on Christmas day as the hospital chaplin called them on the 24th and said I was not expected to live.

I pulled thru but the damage had been done. My pituitary gland was damaged along with a diagnoses of something called Neuroleptic Malignant Syndrome. The outcome has been that my body is slowly contracting into a fetal position and without intensive PT, it will continue.

I’m an excellent example of the complete failure of the healthcare system to take a heathly person, mis diagnose them and automatically apply a drug to solve the problem without an understanding of the dangers of giving the dug to an individual who is dehydated like I was.

Over the years I was given way too much pain killers and that further grounded me. Making good decisions while under the effect of pain killers is not possible so here I am. I’ve missed my son growing up and it’s taken a long time to get even somewhat back into model making.

Scott’s been a big help and I’m confident that the projects we’re working on will generate some much needed income.

We’ve both noticed that many people who produce models professionally usually have both physical and mental problems. I really agree and I’m sure my problems are from years of exposure to the toxic chemicals like acetone, isocyanates and solvents. all of which are bad for your nervous system.

  13. May as well hasten the eventual collapse of the entitlement state.

  14. Cloward and Piven

  15. Hey, I’ll give you a lesser example of wonderful govt. health care. In summer of 2008, I messed up my right knee out playing basketball. In the heat of the moment I didn’t realize I’m not 17 anymore. So when I tried to make the shot I came down just a bit harder than I thought.

Out outstanding VA system wouldn’t even see me for almost two months. I wasn’t sure if I needed surgery and was dreading the long wait.

Thankfully I got one of my Reserve buddies, a Hospital Corpsman, to come check me out. He did and assured me no surgery was needed. It was just strained. All I needed to do was stay off it for a couple of months.

The help I got from a shipmate in two days, the VA expected me to wait 2 MONTHS for!!

If America can’t even look after her veterans, you think she’ll do any better for the general population? This should be interesting.

  16. my mom suffered colitis last year and it was quite an expensive disease.-~;
