The Deep impact comet probe, 31 million miles from Earth, looked back and watched the moon transit the face of the Earth. Cool stuff.  NASA press release here:

  1. I know the Moon has a low albedo, but it still looks odd to see it so dark against the Earth–which apparently is >very< bright, to the point that the camera had to f-stop way down.

    And yet a new perspective on ourselves I’ve never seen before.
