Indonesian authorities said Monday they are considering a petition to tear down a statue of US President Barack Obama as a boy, only a month after the bronze was unveiled in Jakarta.

Seems that a year or so ago there was not a corner of this world where you couldn’t find somebody with an irrational devotion to a man who had accomplished precisely squat in his life. And now that a year has passed and this man has failed to come through on the worshippers own expectations, the disappointment is turning into anger. Few people more angry than the disappointed cultist.

Well, I wouldn’t say squat. I mean, he studied law which requires… uhm… well… errr…
And being a lawyer prepared him well for being a politician. Both “professions” make their money with lying about everything and everyone.
Who cares what they do in Indonesia? Did the Indonesians expect Obama to rule over their country, too? Or to pay their mortgages, or buy their gas?
One more thought: does this suggest that Indonesian politicians think of Obama as Indonesian? Do they have a reason to feel he has more of a connection there than here? Hmmm……
Another country that thinks Obama doesn’t walk on water after all? What’s this world coming to?
