I found the comparison interesting. Consider first “In Maidjan” by the musical group Heilung, sung live in 2017.
Then consider “Wolf Totem” by the Mongolian group “The HU,” the video of which dates from 2018. The two songs seem to sound a lot alike.
And they’re both FRICKEN’ AWESOME. That there is man-music, baby.
And if anyone starts yapping on about “cultural appropriation” with Heilung’s use of throat-singing, take it up with The HU’s appropriation of western instruments and American biker gangs.
