So, you know how the current narrative is that Evil Private Health Insurance Companies are out to screw ya… taking your money then denying your claim when the time comes? And how Universal Health Care is gonna fix that little problem?
Medicare denies a higher percentage of claims than the other insurers listed (though not a much higher rate than Aetna), and at about double the rate of most of ’em.
Just wait until the government has *complete* control of the health care industry. That’ll be awesome.

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
Better yet Pelosi is now making noises about wanting to implement VAT tax.
Yeah, I heard that. A VAT would be:
1) The death knell of the Democratic Party (if the Repubs are smart enough to hold together and fight it to the bitter end)
2) The death knell of the economic recovery.
Sadly, 1 is not worth the effects of 2.
Scott,
Reading through the comments on the Big Government site there’s some good reason to doubt the “Medicare denies more” claim. That graph in particular to very, very narrowly focused and also note the absurdly small number of total claims listed on it.
The thing is not representative of Medicare or the insurance industry in general.
Thus the claim that Medicare denies more than private insurance is not something which can be substantiated on the basis of what’s presented.
Thus, trying to use this as a proof in any debate about the problems with Obama’s socialist health plan is liable to backfire.
I’d recommend against using this report as it’s too easily rebutted.
