A stand will be included with the Nexus model. This is a first stab at it… I think it’s too big, and I’ll simply scale it down.

UPDATE:

The CG of the CAD model is shown below. The CG of the actual physical model *should* be pretty close to the same location.

To display the model with maximum stability, the support rod should go through the CG. An example of that for an arbitrary angle is shown here:

The model can be made to look less “lopsided” by either putting the rod through some point offset from the CG, or loading weight in the nose, shifting the CG forward

  1. The bottom of the Nexus is the most visually interesting part. Almost a shame to have it squatting on its tail.

  2. The stand will be the block you see there, plus a rod (plexi? aluminum? Dunno) of indeterminate length. The longer it is, the more unstable the model (though it’s pretty tail-heavy), but the more of the tail will be visible.

The modeler will be able to determine just *how* to mount the model. As shown, it’s in the standard, relatively undynamic vertical stance, with the rod simply put up through the central plug-cluster engine. But there’d be nothing stopping a modeler from, instead, drilling a hole in the side of the model, and displaying the vehicle at some angle.

  3. its sad to drill a hole into model for a rod
can a Y shape holder solve the problem ?
