From the XRay Delta One Flickr stream, this timetable apparently dated 1962 shows just how optimistic people were more than half a century ago, before space exploration was made to take a back seat to poverty perpetuation programs. When you see someone talking about how SpaceX’s timetables have slipped, often by several years, just remember that the US government was in 1962 expecting to have colonies on the moon by sometime in the 1970’s and planetary colonies early in the 21st century.
