Super-hard metal ‘four times tougher than titanium’

It is, in fact, an alloy of titanium and gold, and appears to be four times stronger than straight titanium. The article points out that it is biocompatible, meaning that it can be used in implants (new hip joints and pins and such).

It would also seem to be good for exoskeletons…
