Yet another Hiller painting, this time showing a Boeing airliner concept done up in NASA markings. Similar to the previous design shown, but with the aft-fan turboprops mounted at the ends of sizable tailplanes, and with a simpler wing planform. No further data.

Ah, the short-lived glory days of the unducted fan engine.
This concept seems to borrow a lot from Rutan with a canard that will stall before the main wing for safety’s sake.
If built, this would have been one of the few designs with both canards and horizontal tail surfaces, like the later Su-27 Flanker varients and S-37.
Sure doesn’t seem to be much sweep on the main wing, so although it would be pretty fuel efficent, it doesn’t appear to be any too fast. You can almost see that wing being all carbon composite from this time period also.
I guess we can call that an Avanti on steroids.
Gah–I hate that phrase…
