The CHDH Wiki page is actually kind of a pain in the ass; loading the program into the camera and convincing the camera to run with it turned out to be more chalelnging than it needed to be. Surfing around online found other pages with people *describing* how to use it, and that got it to work.

Maybe, maybe not. For the really high-speed photos, you need to use a flash, and you need to be close. For 1/100,000 s shots, it looks like two feet or less. For 1/10,000 s shots, looks like 3-5 feet. This with my dinky SD870. More badass flashes may work better, assuming they don’t make the hummingbirds burst into flames.
How were you able to “hack” your camera? Where did you find the software and is it generic or specific to your camera?
