A few shots from the past few days. A quick note on the landscape images: if you think you have a handle on the scales involved… trust me, you almost certainly *don’t.*

Photos were taken at places like the Grand Canyon, Monument Valley (which I can now assure you can be an *extremely* creepy place to drive past well after sundown, with mostly cloudy skies largely hiding the moonlight, leaving giant black Things lurking against the faint gray night sky), Goosenecks, Moki Dugway, Natural Bridges and Hite.

And another question for the European contingent, especially Germans: what’s the attraction for Germans to north-east Arizona/south-east Utah?  I say this with no excaggeration… of the tourists I’ve encountered and heard speak, more than 50%  were speaking German. Meaning that it seems like there are more Germans about than Americans. Was there some big advertising blitz for the Grand Canyon in Germany recently? I’ve heard French, British accents, Slavic languages (Russian, etc.) and whatnot, but German is *everywhere.* This evening my motel is located almost exactly in the middle of No and Where, hundreds of miles from the Big Attractions… and the next door neighbors are Germans.
