    As a retired Army Officer, I have to point out that when honors are played, (Hail to the Chief in this occassion), you stand at attention and there is no applause and so on after honors are played.

    However, the response was … tepid.

    While they seemed to go *bonkers* when Bush came out. I’ve seen that several times (like his surprise Thanksgiving visit to Iraq).

    To be fair, I’ve also seen soldiers and/or Marines enthusiastic about Teh Won, but not to the level they were about Bush.
