Now *this* I’d love to see get passed:
U.S. Rep. John Carter (R-TX) will introduce new legislation tomorrow to eliminate all penalty and interest charges by the Internal Revenue Service against U.S. citizens. The bill is designed to provide the same treatment for all U.S. taxpayers owing back taxes as that enjoyed by House Ways and Means Chairman Charles Rangel (D-NY).
A rule that puts The People on the same playing field as The Congresscritters? Awesome. I can’t wait to hear the arguements against this.

Smartest thing any Congresscritter of either party has done for a long time.
Bu- bu- but but Public Servant! An- an- an- and Chosen by the People!
Yeah, whatever.
Good luck with that! It would be nice if politicians ALLOWED themselves to be governed by the laws, regulations, and ethics of those they are supposed to be ‘serving’ but these kind of “bills” never come up unless the party that proposes the bill is “out-of-power” at the moment.
Guess Scott and I can consider ourselves “lucky” that Utah has the only Congress-Critter that not only FOUGHT the Congressional passage of their yearly “automatic” raise in pay, but donates his raise to charity every year :o)
