Below is the trailer for the movie that caused mobs to go bonkers in Libya and Egypt. Everything about this *screams* “incompetent film-making by people who just don’t care.”

Wow.
RETHINK: the supposed purpose of the movie was to educate people about Mohammad. But it seems reasonably clear that the purpose was to annoy Muslims. And since that is not exactly a difficult challenge, you don’t really need to do much or expend much effort. So perhaps the incredibly incompetent and slap-dash nature of this “film,” with actors who have clearly never before encountered the concept called “acting,” with visual effects produced via Braille and audio dubbing done by someone not only tone deaf, but suffering from a monumental case of tinnitus, are more of a “feature” than a “bug.” Those behind the flick probably knew that approximately nobody was ever going to actually bother to watch the film, so there was no need to do more than slap it together. The terrible nature of the production might even be seen as an incentive to watch it… sometimes a truly awful movie is entertaining to watch for the pure awfulness of it. In that I think they failed… this just plain sucks and is unwatchable.
Which is sad… I think the world could do with a *quality* biographical film about Mohammad. If Hollywood can pull it off with L. Ron Hubbard, they can do it with Mo.
