If you’ve always wanted to visit the scenic Greek island of Santorini, you might want to go sooner rather than later…

Santorini Volcano Fills With Most Magma Since Last Eruption

Santorini has been uplifted by about five inches, and is as magma-filled as it was when it last went kerbloooey in 1939. Santorini’s most famous eruption was about 3600 years ago when a major eruption trashed the Minoan civilization and rained environmental havoc as far away as Egypt (leading some to suggest this as the source of both the Atlantis and Moses/plague myths). An eruption of that scale is vanishingly unlikely, but it could still provide CNN *days* of entertainment as it blasts air travel in the Med and Middle East to a halt. Bonus: ashfall on Syria. Fun!
