  1. Awesome, and just in time for Christmas!

  2. Someone should send word of this to Speaker Nancy Pelosi so she can hold Congressional Investigations as to the horrendous threat to public safety the diabolical weapon clearly poses!

Obviously, this infernal device is to dangerous to be allowed in the hands of private citizens! IT MUST BE BANNED!

    THINK OF THE CHILDREN!

    THE CHILDREN!

I expect it will be. Simply classify it as a “destructive device,” and blammo, it’s gone.

From a purely practical standpoint…. it ain’t. It’s heavy, there’s insufficient protection for the forward hand, it’s probably a bitch to maneuver, and very likely to get stuck in the target and have bits of the target gum up the works. Not to mention loud. But that doesn’t stop it from being just plain entertainin’.

What they need to work up is a much smaller chainsaw… both the drive mechanism and the sawblade itself should be about half the current size.

  4. Silly. Noisy and useless. Typical American foolishness. Making something bigger and noisier does not make it necessarily better. If nothing else it would seriously unbalance the weapon. Then there is the requirement for fuel for the power supply, which also has to be carried. Anybody who’s done some serious bayonet fighting would have him gutted in a few seconds.

    Ah. Jealousy.

  6. I could use one of those for Moose Hunting up here in Canada. 🙂

  7. Not jealousy, an observation about the American hubris one detects.

  8. No, I’m pretty sure it’s jealousy. What this chainsaw is… is a *toy.* It’s is obvious to anyone with a brain that it is not intended for actual combat use, but for fun. But you instead see it as part of some mythical American imperialism.

    Pffff.

  9. On the bit about “American hubris” over a Chainsaw bayonet, I’d point out Rickshaw that it was Englanders that came up with them originally :o)
Right along with the idea of Chain-Swords and Chain-Knives, ahh all the old ‘kit’ from Warhammer 40K…. Though I think THIS version is based more on Gears Of War
