Every now and then one of these comes in:
Scott, you have a really nice website with many things to capture the attention of aviation enthusiasts such as myself. I look at your items for sale with great interest, but I would never purchase anything from you though, because your political blogging is so low brow and offensive. It goes to show a person can have a lot of technical knowledge and still be a bigoted, hypocritical, moron.
Stay out there in the hinterlands…its where you belong.
Ah, the plaintive squeal of “bigot” coupled with a smattering of other insults. No indication was given as to what I’m supposed to be bigoted against. Previous experience would indicate that no coherent explanation would be forthcoming.

Well, it’s obvious what you are bigoted against.
You talk about personal responsibility; the sad truth that there are irrationally backward thinking people out there who would kill others because of their religeous views (or lack thereof); the wisdom of the founding fathers in coming up with our Constitution; and various other fact and logic based interests that are like antimatter to liberal “progressives”.
This obviously makes you a “sumbeech racist fascist” to the group that get their science from SpikeTV and their politics from MTV.

90+ percent of aerospace/defense enthusiasts are conservative – so you should be right on point. Don’t worry about the “I’m not going to buy anything” crap as this is boilerplate for leftroids – their minds are so narrow they could look through a keyhole with both eyes. : )
The person who wrote such mail indeed seems to be, at least, “bigoted, hypocritical, moron”.
In democracy everyone has the right to have his/her own opinion, I always disliked such thing as “politically correct”, it is the best example of hypocrisia.
So you are technically skilled and so you HAVE to think in a “certain” way?
Otherwise you are “out” and should remains in your hinterland?
And the person who wrote such thing shold be a “good guy”, or only a radical chic moron?

Why would they even take the time to write it?
Just as I have the right to express my opinions, so does everyone else. Over the years I’ve received a few similar emails, laced with insults and occasional profanity; rather rarer are emails that express the same ideas but without insults. Shrug.
You must be doing something right if it’s making liberals whine. Two thumbs up.
