The “new tone” continues to improve. Here, Jimmy Hoffa Jr. declares “war” on people who want to reduce the size and expense of government, and apparently calls for their execution: “Let’s take these son of a bitches out.”

The audience applauds the apparent notion of murdering people who want fiscal responsibility. Obama came out later and declared himself proud to be working with Hoffa.

  1. These days, truth is definitely stranger than fiction.

  2. The theftist democrats never talk about what the tea party really wants, but only a straw man fiction. Ever hear them argue that fiscal responsibility and freedom is a bad thing? Instead they deny that out of control spending is irresponsible.

  3. Unions = Sturmabteilung

  4. Unions = Necessary Evil

    • Necessary how? In other words, what do major organized heavily-financed Unions provide that labor laws do not? I hear and see a lot of Union activists claiming that the value of Unions include such things as workplace safety, the 40 hour work week, health care and so on… but these are all provided for in federal law.

A century ago? Absolutely vital. Today?

      • Checks and balances.

Unfortunately, labor laws don’t do everything they are supposed to.

But I do see your point, other than being havens for specialized labor, unions have little use today.

      • It gets worse. Big labor, during the 60s and 70s very anti-communist, has been taken over by the far left as a socialist stalking horse. California has been driven into the ground financially and into the bluest of the blue politically – in large part by the public employee unions who own the Democratic party lock stock and ballot box.

I don’t really have anything against unionism per se, particularly in it’s mid century form, but at the moment, it’s become a violent force for totalitarianism. Hoffa’s speech smacks of 1930s Germany and frankly that’s more than a little scary.

    • Unions, like many of the social programs of the early half of last century are no longer needed, and are such a drain on everything around them that they have become worse then the big bosses they were created to battle.
