Now available… the “C-21 Dragon Assault Ship” model that I mastered for Fantastic Plastic. All assembled and painted, it looks friggen’ AWESOME.

Good, good….

Let the funds flow through you!

This is by far the most complexicated model kit that I’ve mastered, but from the looks of it, it was worth the effort. Now if it turns out that THIS was what was used to insert the SEALs into Casa Del bin Laden…

Even at 1/144 scale, it’s a substantial kit.

  1. Looks good!
Maybe body is a bit heavy compared to four fairly small rotors.

What is it based on? That model looks like a cross between something out of “Star Wars” and Japanese animated sci-fi movies.

A sci-fi political screed that made a buttload of money on the big screen a year and a half or so ago. Great engineering designs; terrible plot.

      • Last Halloween there were half a dozen girls from the local college dressed as Na’vi, so the movie at least has that going for it.

It’s a beautiful model. A bit spendy, but for a limited run model that probably has to pay royalties on each unit it may be normal.

Sadly, that’s basic economics. It cost a lot to produce, and sales numbers for kits like this can rise all the way up into the dozens. So surprisingly large sums have to be charged just to break even, never mind make a profit. A regualr injection molded kit would cost more (a lot more) to get set up and running, but once running, production is pennies a piece.

      • Duh… I looked it up and found the movie (haven’t seen it).
        Thanks for the hint!

  2. Really nice worn paint work on that; I’ll bet you’ve done a lot of tank models, haven’t you?

  3. Awesome, just awesome! Too bad I don’t have the patience to build this baby. Would have loved to have made a Naval variant!

Any chance we will be seeing diagrams or full blown schematics of this beauty any time soon?

If there was sufficient interest I might do something like that. My previous forays into releasing my own CAD-based diagrams have been utter flops.
