Once upon a time, it was a dark and stormy night and the King of the land of Northrop directed his dwarves and elves to craft a magical invisible flying cart. In doing so, they created a parchment full of incantations and arcane symbols, which included not only a representation of the magic invisible flying cart, but also a map showing the mystical path of Cross Sectional Area that would lead to the hiddens treasures of Area Ruling. Then the neighboring land of Lockheed hired a mystical band of mercenaries and dark sorcerers known as Congress, which came along, breathed fire on Northrops magic cart, and Lockheed won the day. Lockheed lived happily ever after. The end.
Yeah, the area ruling concept on it was very clever; the wing is damn near the perfect design to allow the ailerons to exert maximum rolling force also. The thing looks like it could move like a bat out of hell.
I know it was faster than the F-22, but not what its maximum speed was.
I’m definitely after that one!! As best I remember, having been on another classified program at Northrop at the time, it definitely out-performed the Lockheed entry on either engine.
I don’t think the Air Force liked having the engine doing only upward thrust vectoring in the dorsal exhaust trenches, unlike the F-22 which could vector it both up and down.
The F-23 was definitely better from the IR stealth point of view in that regard.
There was some talk of modifying the F-23 design for Navy use after the A-12 Avenger II project went belly-up, but I never heard any more about that.
I finally decided to stop drooling and buy some of your grate prints starting with this one, but unfortunately the ebay says, that it will cost some 30 $ to ship to my country 🙁
Bah. The eBay automatic shipping calculator only has limited options as to how it’s shipped… and those options don’t include the lower cost First Class airmail. Sadly, it appears that once someone has put in a bid, the shipping options cannot be changed. So I changed the shipping option for the Convair VTOL (which has no bids) to a flat $12. Couldn’t change the other two.
If a bidder wins multiple auctions, I’ll of course combine shipping.
What’s the story behind the upper half of the plan view?

LOL gotcha.

Thirty bucks seems kinda high. What country are you in?
I am from Latvia, but I checked the rates for the UK too, as I have a friend there, but it was about the same.
I might be making some mistake at the ebay thought, if it shouldn’t usually be so high.
