Trailer for “The Lego Movie,” due out next year. The last gag in the trailer made me laugh out loud, in no small part to having done pretty much exactly that once.

Got a slightly embarrassing product that deals with a very low-brow issue? Well, how do you advertise it? These people have the answer… charge right into it.

Here’s a good screed:
freedom’s just another word for letting the neighborhood kids mow your lawn
I ain’t got no dog in this fight. But man, some people sure do get testy over what seems to outsiders to be rather small and silly matters of dogma. Take, for example, this thread at Free Republic. FR used to be a good Conservative discussion & news forum, but has long since been little more than a parody site, becoming what lefties imagine far-right-wing religious whackos to be.
The subject of the FR post, and the point of contention, is the concept of “transubstantiation,” the notion that bread and wine actually transform into human flesh and blood (either physically or in some sort of spiritual sense). It quickly becomes a “if you don’t agree with my interpretation, it’s because your church is based not on the Bible, but Satan and you’re going to Hell” thread. It’s rather appalling to read through, like a religious trainwreck.
A one-off vehicle being sold on eBay by builder Michael Vetter:
Buy it now for $100k. I think its off-road capabilities might be limited, however.
A program that converts a single 2D photo into a 3D model. There are some limitations, but still, pretty impressive. Seems to work best with bodies of rotation. Sadly, I don’t think it’d work well at figuring out, say, an aircraft, but a rocket might be a snap.
